Taylors Rwanda Coffee

Taylors Rwanda Coffee

The blurb on this one spouts on about blackcurrants - and for once it's not too much of an exaggeration. There is a definite fruitiness in this – although when we spooned it up to make a strong one it tasted more like blackcurrants forged from bronze. But at normal strength this one looks and tastes good – in the caffetiere it was a lovely nutty brown with a head on it like a pint of Guiness. A good brew - anyone you serve this to will like it. 8/10

What the Manufacturer's say:

"Bright and aromatic with a hint of blackcurrant. These complex beans are bursting with bright flavours, such as tropical fruit, caramel and blackcurrant, then roast medium-dark where those flavours are at their peak. It makes beautiful coffee with a creamy body and a buttery finish."

Great first impression, we really hit it off. Although rather plain looking at first sight, the no nonsense packaging was hiding a bubbly personality dying to break free from the confines of its respectable attire. This desire to easily throw off its clothes meant that it hit the fist of my criteria for a new brew, and after my first sip it was clear that it also achieved my second. This coffee is rich. Really rich. We really enjoyed our time together, but as we got to know each other a little better, it became clear that its richness had led to this coffee developing a slightly sickly, bitter character. By the end of my cup it had gotten so bad that I decided we should just be friends. A nice coffee every now and then, perhaps after a decent meal, but we won't be seeing each other again in the morning.
